Orthopaedics comes to Lakeside!

MSAC has offered Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy for over 12 years - this April MSAC’s services are expanding to include Orthopaedic surgery.

Forming a comprehensive Orthopaedic team with expertise across shoulder, hip, knee, ankle and foot surgery, Orthopaedic surgeons Mr James Stoney, Mr Doug Li and Mr Otis Wang, will commence consulting at the Sports Medicine centre at MSAC from April.

James’ training was undertaken at Melbourne University and The Royal Melbourne Hospital before performing advanced training in hip and knee joint surgery in Bristol, UK during 2002/03.  His main area of interest continues to be knee and hip joint surgery, ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, sports and trauma.  He has a public appointment at St. Vincent’s Hospital where is actively involved in Clinical Research in the Department of Orthopaedics.

Doug completed his Orthopaedic specialist training in Melbourne in 2001 and furthered his subspecialty expertise in shoulder and trauma surgery as a Fellow in Edinburgh and Dublin for three years. He consults widely through the Melbourne Metropolitan area, and holds a public position at the Alfred Hospital.

Otis was trained in Orthopaedic surgery in Melbourne before completing fellowships at Cambridge and Bristol, UK. He offers a friendly and professional service with particular emphasis on open communication and the highest standards of surgical practice. He is an expert in sports and reconstructive foot, ankle and knee surgery.
